|Abstract:||This essay attempts to show that there exists digital divide between developed and the less developing countries. The trend has evoked concern even at the United Nations level. At one social summit it was pointed out that the growing power of the internet risks widening the digital divide between the world's haves and have-nots. IT is seen as developed by the western power that is inclined to dominate the world IT wonders can be dazzling but the fact remains that IT is also being used to perpetuate the status quo that is the developed remains as ever developed or entrenched in power while the poor remains poorer or even in abject poverty. The writer views the current IT craze from a slightly socio-politio perspective.|
